Ways to get involved

Every format is shaped around what PMs actually need — practical, peer-led, and completely free.

  • Topics voted on by members
  • Chatham House rules apply

  • Expert speakers from primary care
  • Live Q&A throughout
  • Recording shared with all members
  • CPD certificate on request
  • 200+ typical attendance
National annual conference

FAQ

Common questions

Can I bring colleagues from my practice?

Absolutely — in fact we encourage it. There's no limit on how many people from the same practice can attend. For in-person events we ask everyone to register individually so we can manage venue numbers, but there's no extra cost.

Is there CPD certification?

Yes. All live online webinars and the annual conference are eligible for CPD credits. After attending you'll receive a personalised CPD certificate you can use for your portfolio. The number of credits varies by session length — typically 1–3 hours of CPD per event.

Are sessions recorded?

Online webinars are recorded and shared with all registered members within five working days. In-person events operate under Chatham House rules — we don't record those, but we do share anonymised notes and any slides presenters have agreed to share.

How often do events happen?

We aim for at least 12 events across the year — a mix of regional meetups, monthly or bi-monthly webinars, and the national conference. We also run ad-hoc sessions when major NHS changes happen that practice managers need to understand quickly.

Are these really free? What's the catch?

Genuinely free — no ticket fee, no hidden premium tier, no "you'll be billed after the trial" trap. Practice Manager Live is a community-funded project. Some in-person events may have a small optional contribution for venue hire if we can't find a sponsor, but attendance is never gated on payment.

I'm not yet a practice manager — can I still attend?

Yes. Events are open to anyone working in GP practice management, including deputy PMs, operations managers, business managers, practice administrators stepping into PM roles, and those studying for relevant qualifications.

How do I find out about upcoming events?

Create a free account on Practice Manager Live and you'll receive email notifications when new events are announced. Members always get priority access and often see events a week or two before they're listed publicly.

Can I suggest a topic or volunteer to speak?

We'd love that. Use the "Propose a topic" button on this page or post in the community forum. If you have expertise in a particular area of practice management and want to share it, get in touch via the forum or the contact page — our events team will reach out.

Are in-person events accessible?

We do our best to choose accessible venues with step-free access, accessible toilets, and good transport links. Every event listing includes accessibility details. If you have specific requirements please contact us when you register and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
