Practice Manager Live was founded in 2019 by a group of experienced GP practice managers who were tired of paying hundreds of pounds a year for closed forums, gated resources, and paywalled CPD. They believed — and still believe — that a community of professionals should never come with a price tag.

We are entirely independent. We are not affiliated with the NHS, IGPM, or any supplier, trade body, or commercial interest. Every editorial decision is made by practising or recently retired GP practice managers. No advertiser, no sponsor, and no third party tells us what to publish.

Every member who joins is verified as a genuine UK GP practice manager or a closely related primary care management professional. This means every question you ask and every answer you receive comes from someone who truly understands your day-to-day reality — CQC inspections, GP contracts, HR headaches, and all.

Our model is simple: employers pay a small, transparent fee to list jobs. That revenue, combined with a modest grant from a healthcare foundation, covers our running costs. You — the practice manager — never pay a penny. Not now, not in the future. It is written into our founding charter.
